    Good Morning Titans!

    Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Good luck to the choirs as they participate in the USD 259 Choir Festival that is being held today here at South High.  Concert Choir will perform this morning and the Combined Women’s Choirs will perform this afternoon.  Women’s Choirs – remember be in the BAND ROOM when 5th hour begins.  We only have a few minutes to organize all 80 singers and get to the auditorium.  Once again, good luck to both choirs!

Attention 2017-2018  Juniors & Seniors:  Are you interested in  high demand technical career field??  Have you ever considered being a Welder, Police Officer or Auto Mechanic?  Perhaps even working in construction, climbing high voltage power lines or saving lives in the medical field?   Other possibilities include:  Robotics, Aviation and IT Systems?  Sign up to see your counselor immediately for the opportunity to take tuition free classes from WATC during the 17-18 school year.

Congratulations to Christian Pelaccio, for correctly guessing Mr. Templonuevo as our Mystery Theatrical Teacher yesterday. Today’s Theatre in Our Schools mystery staff member played the clarinet in the pit orchestra of several of her high school musical productions. But she stepped in to the lime light when she played Auntie Em, in their production of “The Wizard of Oz.” For a bag of Star Bursts, who is this empathetic lady?

Weather did not interrupt the start to the boys tennis season yesterday as the Titans took on the Blue Aces of East high.  Although it was frigid outside, sophomore Evan Kruse was on fire in taking his #1 singles match 6-3, 6-2. Evan also 'cruised' (pause for comedic affect 😂😂) to a win with partner Josue Talamantes in their #1 doubles match 6-2, 6-3. 3 out of the 6 varsity players experienced their first matches at the varsity level and fared quite well. Junior Daniel Villagrana dropped his first set in singles play 6-3 only to battle back in the second to take it 7-5. East took the third set super tiebreaker. Senior Estevan Trujillo won his match 6-4, 7-6(7-4) as the sun was setting. Great job Titans!
