Transportation Services Department

  • Mission for Transportation Services

    The mission of the Transportation Services Department is to

    provide safe, cost-effective, high quality transportation service that:

     

    • Maintains the safety of all riders.
    • Provides eligible students a positive transportation experience.
    • Continuously improves and incresases the quality of transportation service with an emphasis on measurement data.
    • Uses teaming methods to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the bus contractor and our customers.

     

    The Transportation Services Department strives to support the district's mission statement to provide quality education to all students.

     

    Department Vision Statement

    The Transportation Services Department is committed to being professional and efficient,

    while remaining accountable and focused on the safe delivery of students and providing consistent services to all customers.

     

     Transportation Eligibility

    Students must live 2.5 miles* or more from their assigned school to qualify for transportation to that school.

       *The distance is determined by the routing program, Edulog, which provides distance using the most direct route.

     Enrollment times

    • Monday, August 8th – 9-3
    • Tuesday, August 9th - Noon-7
    • Wednesday, August 10th – Noon-7

    School Day Schedule

    • 1st Tier 7-2:40
    • 2nd Tier 8-3:40
    • 3rd Tier 9-4:40

    Pre-K Times

    • AM 9:00-11:50 (Noon to 12:40 mid-day run)
    • PM 1:50-4:40 (1:00 to 1:40 mid-day run)

  • Severe Weather Emergency

    If buses are in transit when a tornado warning is issued, bus drivers will be directed to follow their severe weather plan and when appropriate to proceed to the nearest USD 259 secondary school in the morning and elementary school in the afternoon to seek shelter.  Bus drivers will remain with students at that location until released to resume the bus run.
