FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORES do not have school on Wednesday, February 20th.
JUNIORS will take the ACT test. Any senior who has not taken the ACT will also take the ACT test.
SENIORS: We have a full morning planned for seniors including a presentation from Wichita State University, a senior class meeting, followed by activities such as swimming, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and games. This is a mandatory attendance day. All seniors present and participating will be entered to win a pair of tickets to prom.
NOTE: JUNIOR & SENIORS will be dismissed at 11:15am

High school juniors and eligible seniors to take ACT for free February 20 – No school for freshman and sophomores
This school year, the state of Kansas is paying for one ACT test, allowing all juniors, and seniors who have not taken the ACT, to take the test for free on February 20.

BOE looks at current budget, considers getting approval to raise LOB
The Board of Education heard an update on the current year budget during its February 11 meeting, as they begin to plan for next year’s budget.

2019-20 school year calendar approved
The Board of Education approved the 19-20 school year calendar with August 14 being the first day of school for all students and May 21 as the last day of school.

High School students receive CTE Pathway Awards
Seventeen high school students were recently honored with the Career and Technical Education Pathway Awards.

Superintendent’s Challenge recognizes winter sports excellence
Middle and high school student athletes and cheer and dance teams were recognized for winter sports academic excellence by the Superintendent’s Challenge.

Students receive Scholastic Art Awards
WPS middle and high school art students won 40 gold keys, 58 silver keys and 92 honorable mentions in the Eastern Kansas Scholastic Art Awards.
