Senior Spotlight - Leslie Bravo, Northwest High School
Leslie Bravo will be graduating in the first cohort of Northwest's Early College Academy and plans to attend Stanford University and become a cardiothoracic surgeon.

Thirty-four graduating seniors from the Wichita Public Schools have been offered scholarships from the Kansas Hispanic Education & Development Foundation.

Seven WPS high school students recently had artwork recognized in the Kansas 4th Congressional District Art Show at Mark Arts.

Wilbur science teacher wins Excellence in Public Service Award
Tim Elsen, a science teacher at Wilbur Middle School, received the 2023 Excellence in Public Service Award from the Wichita Public Schools.

WPS named one of the Best Communities for Music Education
The Wichita Public Schools has been named one of the 2023 Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants. This is the seventh time the district has received this recognition.

Distinguished Classroom Teachers recognized
The Wichita Public Schools recognized the 2023 Distinguished Classroom Teacher Award recipients in their respective categories during the April 10 Board of Education meeting.

Early College Academy to graduate first cohort of students
This May, the first cohort of students from the Early College Academy at Wichita Northwest High School will graduate. The students will have earned the equivalent of an associate's degree through a partnership with Friends University
