    West High Academies: Business/Culinary Arts Academy

     

    Students entering this academy will select from Business, Computer Technology, Marketing, and Hospitality. Specialized instruction will be provided in Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Computer Technology & Computer Systems, Accounting, and Culinary Arts. Employment experiences are offered in career-related positions. Students have the opportunity to participate in student organizations: Business Professionals of America, DECA, Pro-Start (Professional Cooking) and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).

    The Business and Hospitality Academy consist of four individual strands. These strand are design to further students education in there career choices. The following is the four stands and careers that are focused on in that strand.

    Business Entrepreneurship & Management- Accountant, Administrative Assistant/ Secretary, Business Administrator, Business Owner, Manager (Office, Retail, lodging, Restaurant).

    Information Technology- Network Technician, Computer Programmer, Computer Repair, Video Game Designer.

    Marketing Management- Salesperson (Retail, insurance, securities), Sports & Entertainment Marketer, Entrepreneur.

    Culinary Arts & Management- Food Service/ Supervision, Culinary Arts, Culinary Arts Educator, Chef Apprenticeship, Commercial Cook, Food Journalist, Food Stylist, Food Scientist, Caterer, Dietitian, Nutritionist, Tourism.

    Audio Visual- Digital Video Production, A/V Installer/Technician, Sound Engineer.
