I am so excited about being at Christa McAuliffe Academy!  CMA has a rich history of excellence, and I will work to continue that tradition.  We have wonderful parent and family engagement, and we encourage open communication.  If you have a concern, please let us know!  Our goal is to work together to give your child(ren) the best education and experience possible.

A little about me: I was an assistant principal at Robinson, Coleman, and Hamilton.  Before that, I was a math and AVID teacher at North High School as well as their wrestling coach.  

Jake Johnston

This is my first year at Christa McAuliffe and my first year as an assistant principal; I am beyond honored to join our CMA school family!  I have nine years teaching experience here in Wichita and am anxious to begin my new journey as a leader at our school.  I pride myself at building relationships with all stakeholders and am excited to get to know each and every one of you.  I have a passion for literacy, positive relationship building, celebrating successes, and ensuring that all students reach their fullest potential.  Our theme for the 2022-2023 school year is “We Will Do Better!” and I know that each and every one of us will rise to this challenge.  I am looking forward to this school year and cannot wait to see what our students and staff will accomplish!

Mrs. Flores joined CMA as Assistant Principal in the 22-23 school year. She is a proud West High School graduate. Her education degree was earned at Bethel College and ESOL/Masters in building administration from Newman University. She has worked in USD 259 as a teacher and instructional coach during her education career. She has three children and her husband, Everardo, is an assistant principal at Heights High School.
