Meet your AVID District Leaders
Michelle Drumright - AVID District Director
Michelle has worked for the Wichita Public School district for 20 years, serving as a classroom teacher, curriculum coach, instructional coach and executive coordinator. In her current role, she serves as the K-12 AVID District Director where she is responsible for setting direction and creating a comprehensive structure of support and coordination of the AVID College Readiness System. In addition to her work in the Wichita Public Schools, Michelle has worked for AVID Center as a National Staff Developer, Lead Training Writer, Curriculum Author, and Consultant. Michelle earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Wichita State University, Master’s degree in School Leadership from Baker University, District-Level Leadership Certification from Emporia State University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Wichita State University.

Amber Burbrink - AVID Elementary Instructional Coach
This will be Amber's 20th year with WPS. She's been an ESOL teacher, classroom teacher and AVID site coordinator during this time. She has 3 fantastic boys, one a recent KU grad, another training to be a firefighter, and a high school Junior. She has a passion for the ACRS (AVID college readiness system) and has been an AVID staff developer for Elementary Foundations 3-6 strand for the past 4 years. She enjoys cooking and being outside on the farm. She looks forward to serving the students and teachers of the district through her role as an AVID Coach!
Raegan Freund - AVID Secondary Instructional Coach
Raegan Freund was an English Language Arts teacher, AVID Elective teacher, Department Chair and co-AVID Site Coordinator at Wichita North High School, an AVID National Demonstration School. Raegan’s dedication, commitment, and passion to the AVID system is showcased through her work as a National Staff Developer, AVID Curriculum Writer, and AVID Path Trainer for AVID Center as well as her work as an AVID Consultant for the AVID Central Division.
Hannah Podschun - AVID Secondary Instructional Coach
Hannah is in her 7th year with USD259. She comes to us from the middle school level where she taught Language Arts & the AVID Elective class, and co-coordinated AVID. Hannah is excited to use her past experiences combined with her passion for the AVID College Readiness System to support schools as they strengthen and individualize their AVID implementation to best meet their unique needs. When she’s not working, she loves doing yoga, traveling, and relaxing with her two pups!
