Kelly Bielefeld named future Wichita Public Schools’ Superintendent
Kelly Bielefeld, Executive Director of College and Career Readiness, will lead the Wichita Public Schools as its future superintendent effective July 1, 2023. The Board of Education announced their unanimous decision on March 10, 2023. The BOE selected Bielefeld after receiving feedback from nearly 2,000 teachers and other district employees, students, parents, business leaders and community members on what they considered to be essential leadership characteristics, personal qualities and critical issues facing the next superintendent. From that feedback, they developed the Superintendent Profile.
