All WPS staff eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccine – updated 3-2-21
Wichita Public Schools will be receiving enough COVID-19 vaccines from Sedgwick County to vaccinate all WPS staff, including substitutes, who wish to receive the vaccine.

At the Feb. 8 BOE meeting, Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson gave an update on the district’s strategic plan which highlighted the ways the district has remained focused on strategic plan priorities as we have responded to the COVID pandemic.

BOE approves 2021-22 school year calendar
The Board of Education approved the 2021-22 school year calendar during its February 8, 2021 meeting. The first day of school for all students is August 12, with orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade on August 11. The last day of school would be May 25.
