I am excited to have the opportunity to create a safe, fun, educational, and welcoming library for the Kensler students.  My goal is to help students discover the love of reading and become lifelong learners.

This is my 22^nd year as a librarian in the Wichita District. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and my Library Certification from Wichita State University.

Music Teacher

I am a graduate of Wichita Public Schools. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Masters from Friends University.

I have earned my ESOL endorsement and Kodaly Certification.   I continue to attend classes, workshops, and in-services to learn new ways to teach music and  best serve my students.  My favorite color is purple, I have to start each day with coffee, and I enjoy counted cross-stitch in my free time.

In Music we meet our learning targets by singing, playing games, playing instruments, and creating.  Most often we experience  learning targets through music before we even label what we have experienced.  I also love to use books to create musical experiences as well.  Having Music as part of the educational day is so important for young learners.  I love sharing how being music makers influences all subject.

Art

My name is Ms. Reaves and I have been teaching art at Kensler since 2021.  In our Kensler art studio we follow a philosophy called TAB or Teaching for Artistic Behavior.  Your student will be immersed in various art mediums, styles, artists, and get to choose what they want to create in art.  Your students creativity will grow here!

I have been teaching physical education at Kensler since 1999 and feel very fortunate to be able to continue to teach and share my passion for physical activity with my students.
