Atten In-Person Learners:
- Face Masks are REQUIRED! USD 259 requires all persons to properly wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth at all items (unless eating breakfast/lunch.)
- Wear your Lanyard at all times. Not wearing can lead to lunch detentions (after 2 freebies)
- Bring your Planner! It's required for hall passes.
- Be on time! Being late between classes will get you a lunch detention.
- NO phones in class! Put your phone away in class unless a teacher allows its use.

More than 340 employees, representing 71 schools and support centers were surprised with awards during Good Apple Week beginning on April 12.

More than 100 WPS juniors and seniors have earned the Kansas Seal of Biliteracy which is awarded by the Kansas State Department of Education to recognize all students who have attained proficiency in English and one or more other world languages by the time they graduate.

Virtual field trips bring the outside world to WPS classrooms and remote learners
Thanks to Dyane Smokorowski, the district’s coordinator of digital literacy, WPS found a unique way for students and teachers to engage with the outside world without having to leave their home or classroom.

Northeast Magnet and East High seniors named Koch Scholars
Northeast Magnet senior Peter Porcaro and East High senior Alexander Mandanis have been named Koch Scholars by the Wichita State University Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College.

Jackson Elementary art project provides mentorship opportunity for Northeast Magnet art students
Drawing and painting art students at Northeast Magnet recently mentored fourth graders at Jackson Elementary thanks to a unique art project between the schools’ art teachers.

Video: Students prepare for mock trial regionals
At Northeast Magnet, juniors and seniors get to participate in the regional mock trial competition where they compete against other Kansas high schools. The competition supplements what they're learning in the classroom including how to try a court case, constitutional rights and contract law.
