Mrs. Katie Barnes
2nd Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Katie Barnes, and I am a second grade teacher here at Seltzer Elementary.
My husband Robert and I have a beautiful baby girl named Rosalie. She keeps us quite busy! Aside from spending time with my amazing family, I enjoy live theatre, movies, traveling and quilting.
I have been teaching at Seltzer for 9 years. I taught kindergarten for 5 years and now second grade for 4 years. I first received a fine arts degree in Graphic Design from Emporia State. Then, I decided to switch gears and I earned an elementary education degree from Southwestern College. I am so glad I did! I also have a master’s degree in ESOL Curriculum and Instruction as well as a Reading Specialist Endorsement, both from Newman University. Continuing my education has given me the wonderful opportunity to educate the students of Seltzer Elementary!

Hello! My name is Dinah Henry, and I have been teaching second grade at Seltzer for 10 years. I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. However, my favorite grade is 2nd!!!!!
I am married to an awesome man that teaches English and basketball. We have 4 children. Our oldest lives in Las Vegas with her husband. Our 3 youngest children are in college. All our children are out of the house, but we have a Saint Bernard and a German Shepard living with us. So we are still very busy at home taking care of them. I love spending time with my family, walks, and green tea from Starbucks!!!!
I can’t wait to meet my new class. We are known as Henry’s Above and Beyonders!!!!! Get ready to be great readers because Readers are Leaders. I’m excited to meet your whole family!!!!!

Mrs. Tracey Jordan
2nd Grade Teacher
It’s hard to believe that I started teaching in Wichita in 1991, but it’s TRUE! I have loved every minute and can’t wait to welcome another class of Jordanators! I’ve taught many years of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, but my heart is in 2nd grade.
I’m married to my wonderful husband, Dan, and we have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. All of our kids are out of the house now, but I still remember the challenges that come with having school-aged kiddos. I can’t wait to meet my students and their families as we get ready for another great year at Seltzer Elementary.
