Wichita Public Schools will begin accepting volunteer registrations for the 2022-23 school year on August 1.
We look forward to welcoming volunteers and partners into Wichita Public Schools buildings again in Fall 2022 (with appropriate pandemic protocols in place as called for by the status of our community's health). All individuals volunteering in a WPS school, including parents, are required to register as a volunteer every year. This registration allows us to conduct a background check on all volunteers to ensure the safety of our students, staff and visitors. It also provides us the information needed to contact volunteers in the event of schedule changes or building closures.
All volunteers and visitors are encouraged to wear masks or appropriate face coverings while inside Wichita Public Schools buildings. For more information on COVID-19 protocols, please visit www.usd259.org/wpsadvance.
The Volunteer Registration Process for the Wichita Public Schools is meant to be simple, quick and stress-free.
All volunteers must register on an annual basis. Volunteers are defined as any adult interacting with students who are not their own as part of the school day or school-sponsored activity (including in classrooms, on field trips, or during family engagement activities).
Please note that ALL fields must be filled out and you must click submit for the form to go through.
To translate this form, please click on the dropdown box at the top of the form to select English, Spanish or Vietnamese.
Within 24 hours, your registration form will be processed and screened through nationwide background checks, and the school(s) you indicate on your form will be notified of your status as a volunteer and your desire to impact the lives of students in their building(s).
If at any time throughout the Volunteer Registration Process you have questions, comments or concerns, please contact Strategic Communications at 316-973-4515.
Thank you for your dedication to Wichita students!
