On February 24, the Board President requested that the Special BOE Meeting on March 3, 2021 begin at 5 p.m. On March 3, the Board will interview the following applicants, as noted in the BOE Agenda published under BOE Meetings: Agendas and Minutes on this Web site.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2022, that effective February 8, 2021, a vacancy has occurred in the membership of the Board of Education of Unified School District No. 259, Sedgwick County, State of Kansas, in board member District 5. Such vacancy will be filled by appointment of the Board of Education not sooner than 15 days following publication of this notice, and the appointee will serve until the expiration of the current term on January 10, 2022. The person to be appointed must be at least 18 years of age, reside within the boundaries of BOE District 5 (as per Sedgwick County GIS map link), and be registered to vote in Sedgwick County, Kansas.
Interested persons are required to submit a completed Application form that includes three (3) letters of reference. Please click the following link for printable Application Form link (PDF). The completed Application form and three (3) letters of reference must be received via postal mail or hand-delivery to the Clerk of the Board, 903 S. Edgemoor, Wichita, Kansas, 67218, no later than Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 12:00 noon. E-mailed documents will not be accepted.
Applicants need to be available for interviews and other purposes at a Special BOE Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. and at a regular BOE Meeting scheduled for Monday, March 8, 2021, at 6 p.m. in the North High Lecture Hall, 1437 Rochester. Interview topics will include: Diversity; Superintendent Relations; Community Relations; Board Relation; the District’s Mission Statemen and Strategic Plan; and the District’s Budget.
