• 2019 Board of Education Election Information

    City and School Election dates have been scheduled as follows:

    • Filing deadline for candidates: Monday, June 3, 2019 at noon at the Sedgwick County Election office.
    • Primary Election: Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Polls open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.
      A primary for USD 259 will be held if more than three candidates filed for any open Board seat. A primary is required only if more than three candidates file for a position.
    • General Election: Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Polls open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.

    The terms of office for the following members of the Board of Education, Unified School District No. 259, will expire on January 13, 2020:

    District 3:

    Ernestine Krehbiel

    District 4:

    Stan Reeser

    At Large:

    Sheril Logan

    The District 3, District 4, and At-Large members will be elected for a four-year term commencing January 13, 2020 and expiring January 8, 2024.

    The filing deadline for elected office is June 3, 2019 at noon. Candidates are required to file in person at the Sedgwick County Election Office, 510 N. Main, Suite 101, in downtown Wichita. For more information, please call the Election Office staff at 660-7100.

    Voting Plan for USD 259: The voting plan adopted by a majority of the electors at the regular election held November 8, 1994, is Voting Plan B, defined by KSA 72-8003 (b): "All electors, who are otherwise qualified according to law, and who reside in the member district, may vote in the primary election for the member positions of such member district and for the at-large member position. All electors, who are otherwise qualified according to law, and who reside in the school district may vote in the general election for all member positions, including the at-large member position to be filled."
