• 2021 Board of Education Election Information

     

    City and School Election dates have been scheduled as follows:

    • Candidate filing deadline: Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at noon.
    • Primary Election: Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Polls open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.
    • General Election: Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Polls open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.

     

    The terms of office for the following members of the Board of Education, Unified School District No. 259, will expire on January 10, 2022:

    District 1:

    Ben Blankley

    District 2:

    Julie Hedrick

    District 5:

    Mia Turner

    District 6:

    Ron Rosales

     

    The District 1, District 2, District 5, and District 6 members will be elected for a four-year term commencing January 10, 2022 and expiring January 12, 2026.

    Voting Plan for USD 259: The voting plan adopted by a majority of the electors at the regular election held November 8, 1994, is Voting Plan B, defined by KSA 72-8003 (b): "All electors, who are otherwise qualified according to law, and who reside in the member district, may vote in the primary election for the member positions of such member district and for the at-large member position. All electors, who are otherwise qualified according to law, and who reside in the school district may vote in the general election for all member positions, including the at-large member position to be filled."
