• The ACT is a test to determine your college readiness. If you are planning to attend a university or college, an ACT is required as part of the application process. You must register in advance.

The website to register is www.actstudent.org.

The fee to test is $55.00 (no writing) or $70.00 (with writing). If you will be staying in Kansas for college, the writing is not needed for admission purposes, so you do not need to take it. If you plan to attend a college out of state, you should plan to take the writing portion as some colleges do require it.

If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, you may be eligible for a waiver to cover the registration fee. See Danea or Amy A. for a waiver.
