The Superintendent of Schools job posting is open to internal candidates only. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2023.

BOE approves 2023-24 school year calendar
The Board of Education approved the 2023-24 school year calendar during its January 23, 2023 meeting. The first day of school for all students is August 15, 2023 and the last day of school is May 23, 2024. New for the 23-24 school year, all schools will have Parent-Teacher Conferences on the same dates.

2022 Turkey Drive
WPS departments and schools came out in force to help our community at the 2022 Turkey Drive, donating nearly 400 turkeys, more than 42,000 side items and more than $30,000.

28th annual JROTC and Leadership Corps Veterans Day ceremony
More than 1,200 middle and high school cadets participated in the Nov. 10 ceremony at Century II.

CALLING ALL JUNIORS – Mark your calendar!! On Tuesday, February 28th, JUNIORS will have the opportunity to take the FREE statewide ONLINE ACT here in Northwest. To be admitted to a testing room, you MUST have a physical ID. This can be a current school ID or driver’s license. 9th, 10th, and 12th Grades DO NOT attend school on February 28th.
If you like to play games such as Uno, Taboo, Mafia, and many other games, join the GSA for Game-o-Rama next Tuesday, January 31st during advocacy. Tickets cost $1.00 in the library. You must have a ticket and sign up prior to Advocacy time on Tuesday. If you have any questions, the ladies in the library are more than happy to help. Tickets are limited, so buy yours today.
Northwest Varsity Scholars Bowl took 3rd at the Wichita All-City League tournament last night. Congratulations to Jack Brown, Trevor Bryant, Brayden Hoang, Myia Havey, Alex Maitwe, and John Robertson. Good luck next week at Regionals.
