  • Good morning, everyone! It’s Monday, September 16th! 
    It’s a sunny 68°F today, with a high of 87°F and a low of 65°F.  
    Get ready for a delicious choice between Chicken & Waffles or French Toast Sticks with Sausage links and yogurt. And for breakfast tomorrow, we have Breakfast Bites! 
    The main gym will be open for boys’ basketball tonight from 6 to 7 PM. Time to show off those hoops' skills! 
    This Wednesday, September 18th is College Wear Wednesday, dress in support of your favorite University and stop by the COTY table before school to earn COTY points and help your class bring home the win this year!! 
    Young Life starts our small groups tomorrow during lunch. Come see Ms. Buhler for more information! 
    This Thursday, the 19th, the feminist club will have their first meeting. Please see Ms. Clark in C11 for questions or to get a pass. 
    Congratulations to EJ Edwards for running the fastest cross-country race in school history at the Emporia Invitational on Saturday. He ran a 16:09 5K, which equals to three 5 minute, 10 second miles in a row! This takes down a record that has been in place for 15 years, since 2009! The top 5 Varsity boys - EJ, Grant Gray, Talan Bogart, Jack Brown, and Phillip Bowers - matched the fastest average team time in school history, also from 2009. Every runner in every boys and girls race ran either a personal best time or a season best time. Our next meet is this Saturday, 7:30 AM at the Cessna Activity Center. Come cheer on this historically fast team!  
    Students interested in the National Art Honor Society: your dues and applications are due this Friday at our next meeting! Set up an appointment pass and join us on Friday during 9th hour in room F4.

    The art department is excited to announce that the following students will have their artwork on display at the Wichita Art Museum for Arts in Education week! Congrats to Trinity Pham, Sienna Pearson-Fee, Caedmon Green, Taytum Spencer, and Dakota Johnson! You can see their work tomorrow at WAM- galleries will be open from 10am to 3pm, with free art activities and even performances from several district music groups. Come on out and support our Grizzly artists! 
    Attention: any boys planning on trying out for basketball this year. Our first open gym of this fall's preseason program will be today from 6 to 7 in the main gym. See the fliers hung up around the school for the full schedule of open gym dates this fall. 
    Did you know that yesterday marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month? 
      
    September 15th was chosen as the beginning date of Hispanic Heritage Month because of the anniversary of Independence Day for Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Mexico on the 16th.  
      
    Don’t forget to join us this week for our H.A.L.O. meeting either Wednesday morning at 7:10 in B6 or Thursday during Advocacy in B9.  Make sure you get a pass from Ms. Lozano.  We have much to discuss as we have several events coming up. 
    Grizzlies This Thursday is our fall college and career fair. There will be over 50 vendors to market with you about colleges, jobs and internships. Ms. Jones will be out for the remainder of the week. Please email her if you have any questions. 
    The next ACT test is October 26th. Please continue to register if you plan on taking it. 
    Have you ever wanted to travel to Rome, Italy? How about Athens, Greece? There will be an informational meeting tomorrow night at 6pm in the commons if you are interested in traveling internationally next year during Spring Break. If you have questions before the meeting, please see Ms. Houle in C6. 
    Any boys interested in joining the swim or dive team, join us on Wednesday after school in C5 for a quick informational meeting about pre-season conditioning. Questions? See Coach Wofford!  
    Do you like to craft? Do you want to learn a new hobby? Join the crochet club to learn a new skill and have fun! Every Wednesday in Mr. Woods Room for 0 hour. No crochet experience needed, and all levels welcome! The first meeting is on September 18th during 0 hour.
