Dual/Concurrent Credit

  • Wichita Heights offers both dual credit and concurrent credit courses for students to take. These courses allow students to earn both high school and college credit for taking the same class. Dual Credit classes are classes students take at a college/university, while Concurrent Credit allows students to take college courses at Heights. Dual credit classes may be taken either during school (with an approved schedule) or after school/on the weekends. Concurrent credit classes must be taken at Heights during the school day.

In Kansas, juniors and seniors are able to take FREE college classes to prepare them to work in technical career fields through the Excel in Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. These dual credit classes can be taken at WSU Tech (formally WATC) and several local community colleges. Only eligible courses apply. Students may also take general education courses at these same schools for a reduced cost. View the links under the "Dual/Concurrent" tab to learn more about the courses available to Heights students!
