    Northeast Magnet has a rigorous and comprehensive sequence of classes students must complete to earn their Magnet Certificate at graduation.

    Northeast Magnet High School Magnet Certificate
    The goal of all Northeast Magnet students is to receive the magnet certificate.

    The magnet certificate connects the courses and experiences of Northeast Magnet students to their future success. Students who complete the magnet certificate get special recognition at graduation, receive a Magnet Certificate Medal and Magnet Certificate.

    Art

    • Students must complete a minimum of 25 total credits.
    • 6.5 credits of Visual Art courses
    • Art Survey, Drawing & Painting I, Art History, and Senior Project completed.
    • All art credits must be completed with a C or better.
    • Four annual art projects must be completed with a C or better.
    • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.


    Science

    • Students must complete a minimum of 25 total credits. 
    • 8 credits of science (Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Anatomy & Physiology) 
    • 3 credits of mathematics (must have a minimum of Pre-Calculus)
    • Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus must be completed with a C or better.
    • Students must pass the specified science magnet class each year in their pathway.
    • Four annual science projects must be completed with a C or better.


    Law and Public Service

    • Students must complete a minimum of 25 total credits.
    • Four annual law projects must be completed with a C or better.
    • Students must complete a minimum of 100 hours of community service.
    • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
    • Students must complete a minimum of 5 credits in one of the concentrated magnet areas below:
