Laura Fernsler

Hi there! My name is Ms. Laura. I've spent the last 9 years working for the Wichita school district. Most of my spare time is spent growing lavender and digging in my huge flower garden. I love paper crafting and have been a scrapbook instructor for 20 years. I grew up in Missoula, Montana, have lived in 5 states but have made Wichita my home the past 13 years. Fun fact: when I was 18 I had the opportunity to sing on stage with REO Speedwagon... Keep On Rollin'. At one time, my great-great-grandfathers were the founders of Haven, Kansas. The White Tails B&B in Haven was my great-grandmother's home.

I love Skittles, Cheez-Its, Sbux Caramel Macchiattos, dry roasted peanuts, peanut butter, and tacos! I'm so excited to be a a part of the Allison team and look forward to a wonderful year soaring with the Eagles.

Joe Sechrist

Hello! I'm Mr. Sechrist and I'm starting my 22nd year here at Allison. I enjoy watching the Kansas City Chiefs and officiating football at the college level. I am a father of four and have been married to my wife, Brenda, for 30 years.

Last football season, I won the Bryce Roderick Outstanding Official of the Year Award. I like unsweet iced tea, meat and cheese tray and any snack that is sweet, especially chocolate and peanut butter!

Here's to a great school year!

Denyse Cerullo

Hi there - I am Denyse Cerullo. I graduated from Emporia State in year 2001. Yes, that was a long time ago! I grew up in a very small town southeast of Wichita (you won't recognize the town, so I won't even waste my time saying it). I still go there to ride four wheelers and help my family with the cows.

My love of math is disgusting to many people, but hopefully not to YOU. I have taught in the Wichita School District for 21 years, the last 14 years have been teaching middle school mathematics. I am now the Data Coach at Allison (I still deal with a lot of numbers, so my nerdy math brain is still very happy).

On my off time, I help my husband raise our young son and chocolate lab. We go to the lake a lot and ride our jet skis, hang out by our firepit with friends and marshmallows, or just become couch potatoes and watch Netflix. It's all about balance, right?

I can make the best monster cookie the side of the Mississippi. I enjoy Diet Coke, anything chocolate, anything with peanut butter, and coffee - lots and lots of coffee.

I love books! I love big books and l love little books and all the books in between. I think good books have the power to grab and change a reader like nothing else. Who wouldn't want to spend all day sharing that with students?!?

Although I'm an official adult, I LOVE young adult literature.

Though born in Memphis, TN, I've never met Elvis. I've called Wichita home since the early 90s. I began working in education six years ago at Northeast Magnet High School as a para and hope to eventually teach. Playing & listening to music is my main avocation, though I'm always up for a good game of Scrabble.

Did I mention that I once ran a preschool?

Angie Butcher

I've been a School Social Worker in USD259 for seventeen years. So far, I've just been in elementary schools. I am so excited to see some of the kids at Allison this year that were from my former elementary schools within the district. I am a very positive person and think EVERY person has strengths, and I want them to achieve their best self (positive self). I love movie theatre buttered popcorn, hot tamales, pink Starbursts, and Barq's root beer.

I have several ideas that I live by, and I'm going to share them with you...

Our positive attitude changes others attitudes and behaviors. Charles Swindoll wrote a poem about "Attitude" and it says, "Life is 10% of what happens to us, and 90% of how we react to it." Another one of my ideas that I live by is that we need to leave the world better than when we entered into it. I could go on about these all day, but one last point of view that I would like to share is that if our thoughts are negative - our behavior is going to be negative, and vice-versa. Therefore, I choose to have have positive thoughts. I challenge you to figure out what ideas do you live by... Are they positive ideas or negative?!?!

Go Allison Eagles!!!
