2024-25 Intro to Kindergarten

  • Welcome to Wichita Public Schools!


    Intro to Kindergarten, the Wichita Public Schools kindergarten kick-off event, for 2024-25 will feature in-person events at elementary schools on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. 


    At these events, parents and caregivers will learn about the information needed to start preparing your student for Kindergarten during the 2024-25 school year. This includes a presentation that provides basic information about what to expect in Kindergarten classes across our district; explanations about the screening assessments - Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) - you will complete for your student; and an important introduction to attendance expectations. You can find documents explaining these items at the bottom of this page if you are unable to attend.


    Your student's school may have additional information to share with you as we get close to the start of the school year. Be on the lookout for that to come directly from school staff. 


    For a list of documents you'll need to upload during the online enrollment process, visit our new to district page. In-person enrollment will be held July 29-30, 2024, at each school building. Families of Kindergarten students will be required to enroll in person. If you have older students in the district, you should go where the Kindergarten student will be attending to complete enrollment for all students.

    The table below includes all elementary schools with Kindergarten programs for the 2024-25 school year. Please look for your child's school for more information on its Intro to Kindergarten event time and activities. More information will be added weekly as activities are confirmed by the schools.
