Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Sharpsteen

Greetings! I was born and raised in Wichita and attended Knight Elementary (now Enders), Peterson Elementary, Wilbur Middle School, and Northwest High School. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Kansas Newman University, and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University. I have been proudly teaching students in Wichita since 1995. I have taught at Marshall Middle School, Jardine Edison Junior Academy, Ingalls Edison Elementary, and Griffith Elementary. I became an Instructional Coach in 2012. Before coming to Payne, I worked closely with teachers at Bostic, Isely, and Seltzer. I love working with teachers because their passion and enthusiasm is inspiring. My goal is to help teachers grow to be the best they can be for their students.

My husband, Pat, and I have 3 (almost) grown children. Gage and Peyton are in college. Tucker is a senior in high school. Together we love to travel and joke around with each other. We always have a good time! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, working in the garden, watching Netflix and doing crafty things like cross-stitch and painting.

I love Payne for many, many reasons! We have amazing students and dedicated students. Together we work very hard, but we also have a great deal of fun! It makes me happy to come to work every day!
