    BAASE Program (Better Academics And Social Excellence) 

    The BAASE program aims to help close the achievement gap and increase the graduation rate of male students. Students meet at North.

    Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas 

    The Boys & Girls Club is a community resource that offers teens a variety of different progBAASErams and opportunities including the Career Launch program, Power Hour (homework assistance), Triple Play (a game for the mind, body & soul) and many more.

    Center of Wichita 

    The Center of Wichita is a place to call home for Wichita’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Allied (LGBTQA) community and a safe space for youth. One of their many programs includes the Get Connected Group, a youth group for teens.

    College Career Center (CCC) 

    The North High College Career Center helps students prepare for success after high school. Areas of assistance include ACT/SAT information, college planning, career mentoring, financial aid/scholarship guidance and more.

    JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) 

    JAG is an elective class at North that provides academic and positive support to ensure students earn their diploma. Activities include exploring career opportunities and practicing soft skills as well as exploring postsecondary opportunities whether that be college, military or the workforce.

    Operation Holiday

    Each year, HumanKind’s Operation Holiday provides nonperishable foods, blankets, children’s coats, grocery gift cards, toys for children (through a partnership with U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots), pet food and more to thousands of low-income families in the Wichita community. Click here to read about income guidelines, our new drive-thru distribution format and more—then fill out the application below.

     

    PANDO Initiative  

    Pando Initiative helps students remove barriers that keep them from being successful. The Pando North team is here for North students and their families to help them know what resources are available from Pando North High and our local community, along with opportunities that might create an easier learning experience or well-being of the student and their family.

    Rise Up for Youth 

    Rise Up for Youth’s goal is to inspire and motivate the next generation to unlock their full potential through education, mentoring and empowerment. Rise Up for Youth has two programs: Sisterhood and Brotherhood. Each of the programs supports students who are dealing with a range of personal, social, academic and socioeconomic issues.

    The United Way helps connect people to community resources. Their 211 feature allows students and families to learn about a range of services and resources in regards to employment & education, health and dental care, food, housing and shelter, senior & disability care and more.

    Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC) 

    WASAC provides free and confidential crisis intervention, support, information and referrals to victims of sexual abuse.

    YMCA 

    The YMCA offers a variety of resources for teenincluding a Job Prep program, sports activities, summer camps, after school programs, support for teen parents and more.  The WSU Branch (Steven Clark Branch) offers a new FREE program called Fresh Connect that is for new freshmen enrolled in USD 259 that live around the Wichita State University Campus.  The Fresh Connect will provide healthy connections for freshman by supporting their academic work, provide a social connection to the Y community, and keep them physically active.
