MySchool Remote Meals Information/FAQs 20-21

  • Meal distribution for students enrolled in MySchool Remote changing and expanding pick up sites

All students in the Wichita Public Schools are eligible to receive free meals through December, due to the U.S. Department of Agriculture is expanding its Summer Food Service Program. All children ages 1 – 18, whether eating onsite or through the MySchool Remote distribution program, will receive free meals. This includes families who normally pay the full rate or reduced rate. Families will not be charged for any school meals they have received for the first week of school.

The meal distribution for students who are enrolled in MySchool Remote online learning is changing. Families will no longer have to pre-order meals, but they will need to prove that they have children in order to receive the meals. Families will receive a verification card when they pick up meals for the first time. They will present the card to school staff each time they pick up meals for the rest of the semester.

Families can pick up five breakfasts and five lunches on Thursdays between 5 – 6 p.m. at twelve locations:  Click Here for traffic flow

    • Onsite Students

      • Families/households of students onsite do not need to do anything in order to receive free meals at their attendance school.
      • Students onsite, who are eating breakfast and lunch at their school, are unable to participate in meal pickups on Thursdays.
      • Households need to continue to fill out free and reduced meal applications in order for households to qualify for reduced school fees. To fill out the application, go to https://family.titank12.com/.

      MySchool Remote Students

      • Remote meal pickups on Thursdays are for kids ages 1-18 who are not also participating in meals at school.
      • For Thursday remote meal pickup, there is no signup or order process to receive meals.  However, on the first day a household comes to pick up meals, households must provide proof they have children between the ages of 1-18.  We suggest bringing the children the first time households come to pick up meals.
