Funding Your Education

  • Finding the perfect college fit for you isn't always about the name of the institution, where it's located, or how many local study hot spots are around campus; it's also about the financial fit. Funding your edcuation can often be the main force driving the decision on where you end up attending. The East High CCC site will help offer you resources around financial aid, appliing for FAFSA, locating local scholarship, and more. To learn more about a specific area of funding, simply use the left navigation bar and click on a topic to learn more.

Seniors, when you apply for FAFSA and you are Pell-Grant eligible, the following Kansas colleges will offer you free tuition:

Wichita State University (WSU) - Shocker Promise

If you meet the qualifications, your tuition will be covered. Please note that they will use all of your Pell award to support the free tuition and their school will cover any remainder. I highly recommend applying for the various top scholarships at WSU that may offer you an opportunity for additional funds to cover some of your housing costs.

Fort Hays State University (FHSU) - EmpowerED Dreams

If you meet the qualifications, your tuition will be covered. Please note that they will use your Pell award to cover the remaining tuition after your scholarship award. FHSU also offers an additional $1500 towards housing for first-year students. If you have Pell funds left over, you can use your Pell to cover housing costs. Most of my East High students pay very little out of pocket.

Kansas State University - Land Grant Promise

If you meet the qualifications, your tuition will be covered. Please note that they will use your Pell award to cover the remaining tuition after your scholarship award. I highly recommend applying for the various top scholarships at KSU that may offer you an opportunity for additional funds to cover some of your housing costs.

Kansas Board of Regents - Promise Act Scholarship

The Kansas Promise Scholarship Act provides service scholarships for students to attend Kansas community colleges and Kansas technical colleges in specific fields of study.
