How does KDHE determine which countries or states are on the travel list?
For countries outside of the U.S., KDHE evaluates rates of disease in those places compared to the KS rate. For areas within the U.S., KDHE uses a number of sources of data including the number of cases each state has per population to determine whether the rate of disease is higher than the KS rate. Typically, a state must have a rate at least three times worse than KS to be added to the list.
-
How often is this list updated?
Approximately every two weeks.

Leave Related to COVID
-
Will my leave be covered if I am out for a COVID reason?
The district COVID leave program expired after May 31, 2021. Leave used for COVID related reasons after this date should be considered like normal sick leave. If an employee is positive and the absence reaches a 6th day of absence, they should contact Employee Benefits to file for medical leave coverage, but this is the only situation that would apply.
-
Will I be disciplined for attendance if I am required to be out for a quarantine that is not my fault?
Employee Benefits encourages you to keep and be prepared to provide any documentation that would help support an absence as it could help negate this for you. That will be at the discretion of the manager and the Chief Human Resources Officer and any case will be thoroughly reviewed.
