    Summer Reading 2022: Oceans of Possibility

    There are "Oceans of Possibilities" this summer at the Wichita Public Library! The Summer Reading Program runs May 31-July 28. Read books, win cool prizes and participate in exciting programs all summer long. https://wichitalibrary.org/summerreading

    Welcome to Camp BOOK IT!, a free summer reading and activity program to keep kids engaged throughout the summer months. Kids participating in Camp BOOK IT! will be able to earn a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza® for meeting their reading goals each month – just like they do with BOOK IT! during the school year!

    This summer, earn one free book through the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program for kids in grades 1–6. Read any eight books this summer and record them in this Summer Reading Journal. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between July1st and August 31, 2021.



    Scholastic Summer Reading program offers kids an exciting, free, and safe summer reading experience, while helping to provide books to kids with limited or no access over the summer, keeping every child reading. Runs May 9 - August 19, 2022 on Scholastic Home Base.



    For NEXT YEAR’S 3rd, 4th and 5th Grader

    The master list of the 2022-2023 William Allen White Award nominees will be announced soon. If you would like to get a head start on reading these books, they can be checked out from the public library or purchased from any bookseller. Many of them are available in audiobook and e-book formats. Find more information about the William Allen White Award on the Horace Mann Library website.

    For NEXT YEAR’S 4th and 5th Graders:

    The 2022-2023 Battle of the Books season will launch when we start school in August. If you are interested in participating in iBoB, you can read from any of the color coded lists this summer. Pick your favorite! Be sure to print and complete summary forms for each book you read so you can remember the details. Read all about it on the Horace Mann Library website.
