Age of Majority:
At least one year before a student reaches 18 years of age, the IEP team must document that the student and the parents have been informed that the parent rights under IDEA will transfer to the student at the age of 18 unless parents have been assigned guardianship or other legal arrangements have been made.
Age of Majority Procedures & Paperwork:

Age of Majority document is completed in Ad Hoc documents on or before the student's 17th birthday

Age of Majority document is explained and given to parents and student on or before the student's 17th birthday.

The notification that rights under IDEA will transfer to the student at age 18 is documented in the IEP under the "IEP Team Considerations" tab prior to the student's 17th birthday.
