Welcome to the Jeffersron Elementary School Library! My name is Amy Baars and I am our school's library media specialist. I have the pleasure of seeing and teaching every student once or twice a week in the library. As your child's teacher-librarian, he/she will learn lifelong skills in information literacy, digital citizenship, and reading!
The library is the heart of our school. It is my intention to create a safe, positive, and organized environment in the library. We will learn to find joy in books and reading every day. We will also be challenged with engaging, rigorous, relevant, and standard-based lessons. My goal is to build a community of strong and independent readers, information seekers, and technology producers.
We will have a great year growing as library users and lifelong learners!
