Families are not alone in this process! WPS will support and listen to families, including:

• Emotional support available to students at closing schools
  • Tips for Talking with Children about Change
• Listening sessions for impacted families 
  • Read the feedback from the listening sessions

• Welcoming events at a student's new school

The six schools that will be closed at the end of the 2023-24 school year are:

• Clark Elementary
  • Welcoming schools: Caldwell, Beech and Allen
• Cleaveland Traditional Magnet Elementary
  • It is a pure magnet school and there are no designated welcoming schools
• Park Elementary
  • Welcoming schools: Irving, Washington, Harry Street and Linwood
• Payne Elementary
  • Welcoming schools: Lawrence, Stanley and Woodman
• Hadley Middle School
  • Welcoming schools: Hamilton, Marshall, Pleasant Valley Middle and Wilbur
• Jardine STEM and Career Explorations Academy 
  • Welcoming school: Mead
    
    

Specific information will be shared with impacted families regarding their new school assignment again early in March.
