About Kelly Frederick, Librarian

  • at Library of Congress

Hello!  I'm Kelly Frederick, and I'm thrilled to be the library media specialist at Marshall!  Check out the picture of me in front of the Library of Congress this summer - SOOO cool.

This is my forth year as a middle school librarian, after one year as a high school librarian.  I've taught in the neighborhood at North High since 1987, and look forward to seeing familiar faces this year.

I personally love reading and am excited to share that love with our students.  Another goal for me is to help students develop the information literacy skills they need to function in our digital age.

I bike for fun and exercise, and love the culture of Wichita - food trucks, events, music, art!  My husband Doug is a nurse practitioner, and I have two daughters.  Ali lives in Los Angeles with her husband Seth and my grandaughter, Claura, who was born in February.  Claire teaches physics at West Potomac High School in Virginia where she lives with her husband Ben.
