Mr. Gregory Croomes
My name is Gregory Croomes and I am the principal of L'Ouverture Computer Technology Magnet School. This school year will be my 21st in USD 259. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University and I received my masters in Educational Administration and Supervision from WSU as well. I am currently enrolled at Pittsburg State University to receive my masters as a Technology Information Specialist. I taught 4th grade at Hyde International Studies and Communication Magnet for 5 years. I spent one year at Jefferson Elementary as a building level resource teacher. The next school year, I became an assistant principal at Kelly Elementary. After leaving Kelly, I was named principal at Cleaveland Traditional Magnet. The 2008-2009 school year was my first at L’Ouverture Computer Technology Magnet. I have long considered it an honor to be at a building with such a rich history and a reputation for excellence and success. We are the only school in the district with 1:1 iPad implementation for students. We are currently working towards having collaborative seating in grades K-5, which puts us at the cutting edge of this initiative. Collaborative seating allows differentiation of learning for students. Instead of traditional rows of desks, students can interact and collaborate with one another in an environment that fits their learning needs. When students learning needs are met, their work will improve along with their grades
I am a father of four. When I am not spending time with my children, I enjoy watching football and fishing. I enjoy fishing for all types of fish, but bass fishing is my favorite.
Parent and families have a huge impact on the success of students at school. With that being said, I truly enjoy collaborating with parents to continue to increase student achievement at L’Ouverture Career Explorations and Computer Technology Magnet.
