Physical Education at Dodge
Physical education provides students with a planned, sequential, K-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy and emotional intelligence. Not only is physical activity critical to the development and maintenance of good health and academic success, but it's also a whole lot of fun! At Dodge Literacy Magnet, each student in grades K-5 receives physical education twice a week for 47 minutes. Some of the things students enjoy the most are roller skating, blacktop dances, fresh fruits and vegetables, and swimming at the YMCA. At the end of the school year, Super Kids' Day is a fun-filled day which incorporates all the things they've learned in classes. All grade levels strive to meet the National Standards for Physical Education.
