Physical Education at Dodge
Meet the Dodge PE Dept. Team that includes the two, and only, Mr. Kyle Small and Mr. Daniel Flores! They thrive on building a solid foundation of health, nutrition and physical education to kids to form a healthy aspect for their futures.
Physical education provides students with a planned, sequential, K-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy and emotional intelligence. Not only is physical activity critical to the development and maintenance of good health and academic success, but it's also a whole lot of fun!
At Dodge Literacy Magnet, each student in grades K-5 receives physical education twice a week for 45 minutes. Some of the things students enjoy the most are:
- roller skating
- blacktop dances
- swimming at the YMCA
- Kansas Kid's Fitness Day
- Wearing Tennis shoes
At the end of the school year, Super Kids' Day is a fun-filled day which incorporates all the things they've learned in classes. All grade levels strive to meet the National Standards for Physical Education.
