Nothing is more important to a parent than finding the best educational fit for their child. The Wichita Public Schools is proud of the many high-quality options it offers parents.
The journey toward school selection begins based on the home address of a student. All addresses in the Wichita school district are assigned to a neighborhood elementary, middle and high school.
In order to make it easy for parents, prospective parents, Realtors and other community partners to easily determine what their neighborhood schools are, the district has created WPS School Finder, an online tool to look up schools assigned to any home address in the district.
The Wichita Public Schools also prides itself on the choices that it offers parents when determining the best school option for their child.
- If you have an ELEMENTARY school student, he or she will be assigned to their neighborhood elementary school unless you apply to and are accepted at one of 18 magnet elementary schools.
- If you have a MIDDLE school student, he or she will be assigned to their neighborhood middle school unless you apply to and are accepted at one of 6 magnet elementary schools or the Robinson IB program.
- If you have a HIGH school student, he or she will be assigned to their neighborhood high school unless you apply to and are accepted at Northeast Magnet or the East International Baccalaureate program.
