The Purpose of Senior Project
-
The purpose of Senior Project is to validate that North High graduates have acquired the skills, knowledge, and concepts necessary to perform well when they leave high school. Each student will demonstrate his/her ability to use educational tools to broaden his/her knowledge about a particular, self-selected topic. The selected topic should be complex and comprehensive enough to challenge each student both intellectually and creatively. The topic should be a demonstration of cumulative knowledge. Each student will demonstrate mastery of his/her topic through completion of the five components of the Senior Project: the Proposal, the Annotated Bibliography, the Project Product, the Project Portfolio, and the Oral Presentation. Students are also required to attend the Open House which is a showcase of all projects that have been created over the course of the year.
