NEW!! March 15, 2021 WPS will continue face mask requirements for students and staff through the end of the school year. Face masks are a part of the plan approved by the Board of Education on March 8.
March 8, 2021 In a 6-0 vote, the BOE approved transitioning all onsite middle and high school students back to 5 days a week for the fourth quarter. The transition will begin on Monday, March 29 when students return from spring break.
Families will not see any changes if they selected the MySchool Remote learning model, have elementary students, are enrolled in Education Imagine Academy, or have a student who is already onsite being served through a temporary services plan.

El uso del cubrebocas es parte del plan aprobado por la Junta de Educación el 8 de marzo.
8 de marzo del 2021 La Junta de Educación aprobó la transición a la educación presencial 5 días a la semana de secundaria y preparatoria para el cuarto trimestre. La transición comenzará el lunes 29 de marzo cuando los estudiantes regresen de las vacaciones de primavera.
Las familias no verán ningún cambio si seleccionaron el modelo de aprendizaje remoto MySchool, si tienen estudiantes de primaria, Education Imagine Academy o si recibe servicios a través de un Plan de Servicios Temporal.

The Future Ready Return to School Plan for the 2020-21 school year was developed with the health and safety in mind for WPS students, families and staff. The Wichita Public Schools continues to work with experts, monitor public health data, learn from peers and gather input from staff and families. All facilities will practice caution and social distancing, and focus on hand washing and cleaning protocols. Click here to read the original Future Ready Return to School Plan. Aspects of this plan have been updated as appropriate as the academic year progresses, and updates are noted on this web site as appropriate.
We will closely monitor health conditions and be prepared to pivot in our planning and execution if warranted.
