P1409 Employee Fund Raising Campaigns
All system-wide fund raising campaigns in which funds are solicited from school employees shall have prior approval of the Superintendent and must be consistent with terms of employment and personnel policies.
Administrative Implemental Procedures
- Any special drive for funds in the school district must have the authorization of the Superintendent of Schools.
- The Wichita Friendship Fund is authorized to conduct one united campaign in the Wichita Public School System for community funds during the school year.
- A pledge to the Friendship Fund is neither contingent to employment nor a criterion for evaluation of performance.
- An employee shall give a signed authorization to the business office before a payroll deduction can be made.
- Other fund-raising and donations are governed by the following Board policies: P1408 – Commercial or Proprietary Functions; P1410 – Financial Campaigns and Money-Raising Projects; P1411 – WPS Gift Funds; P1412 – Donations – Computer Technology, Equipment, Materials, and Supplies; and P7105 – Private Funding of Building and Site Improvements.
