P2220 Community Agencies
The principals should endeavor to establish cooperative relationships with nonprofit community institutions whose purposes are to serve children and youth. Specific organizations will be authorized by the Superintendent or designee to solicit memberships during regular school hours.
Administrative Implemental Procedures
The principal will:
- Permit representatives from organizations approved by the Superintendent or designee to solicit memberships during regular school hours.
- Assist the leaders by distributing the membership materials.
- Assist leaders in finding suitable meeting places for their groups.
- Inform parents and teachers of the recreational and educational values of community service organizations.
- Encourage interested parents to share their training and skills with these organizations.
- Provide opportunities for students in these organizations to give service to their school and community.
- Inform parents and organizational sponsors of group functions that field trips, camping, and other types of activities should not be scheduled during times which would interfere with classroom instruction.
