P3715 Retirement Benefits
Retirement benefits are extended to personnel as outlined by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS), the Voluntary Early Retirement Program, if applicable, and by the Social Security Act.
Administrative Implemental Procedures:
- Participation in KPERS is required for all employees who are employed in any position that is not seasonal or temporary and requires 630 hours or more annually.
- Benefits from the Voluntary Early Retirement Program are determined in accordance with BOE Policy 3714 - Voluntary Early Retirement Program.
- Unified School District 259 employees participate in Social Security.
- Rate and total amount of deduction are determined by Congress.
