P6712 Funding English Language Arts Extracurricular Activities

The Board of Education will provide funds to assist schools in English language arts competitive and performance activities including speech, debate, forensics, and drama.
Administrative Implemental Procedures:

Board of Education monies will provide for the following:

Supplemental salaries when appropriate

Facilities, supplies, and equipment

Maintenance of facilities and equipment
-
Supervision and guidance
-
Transportation to debate and forensic tournaments.

The building principal is responsible for:
-
Assigning qualified personnel to supplemental positions when appropriate

Initiating, reviewing, and approving maintenance orders for requests for facilities, supplies, and equipment

Providing and assigning adequate supervision

Providing a report of all incomes and expenditures for each activity for review in the annual budget hearing process for development of the English Language Arts budget.

Providing an accurate and current inventory of all equipment

Utilizing the expertise of personnel in Learning Services in meeting the responsibilities listed above.

The Secondary English Language Arts teaching specialist is responsible for working cooperatively with principals and staff members to fulfill those responsibilities assigned to the building principal.
