Wichita Public Schools is now accepting volunteer registrations for the 2024-25 school year.
We look forward to welcoming volunteers and partners into Wichita Public Schools buildings each year. All individuals volunteering in a WPS school, including parents, are required to register as a volunteer every school year (you only need to register once per school year, from July to June). This registration allows us to conduct a background check on all volunteers to ensure the safety of our students, staff and visitors. It also provides us the information needed to contact volunteers in the event of schedule changes or building closures.
All volunteers and visitors are encouraged to wear masks or appropriate face coverings while inside Wichita Public Schools buildings if they choose.
The Volunteer Registration Process for the Wichita Public Schools is meant to be simple, quick and stress-free.
All volunteers must register every school year - between July 1 and June 30. Volunteers are defined as any adult interacting with students who are not their own as part of the school day or school-sponsored activity (including in classrooms, on field trips, or during family engagement activities).
Please note that ALL fields must be filled out and you must click submit for the form to go through.

Within 48 business hours, your registration form will be processed and screened through nationwide background checks. You will then be notified of your status as a volunteer and given further information via the email address you list in your registration. It is important that you list a working email address that you have access to.
