Meet Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld
Superintendent Bielefeld has led Kansas' largest school district since July 1, 2023. With a strong background in educational leadership he previously served as the district's Executive Director of College and Career Readiness, as well as an assistant superintendent and principal and nearby districts.
Under his leadership, WPS has seen meaningful progress, including a rise in graduation rates, stronger English Language Arts scores, and expanded opportunities through FutureReady Centers and dual credit programs. Actively engaged at the state and local levels, Superintendent Bielefeld is committed to ensuring that Wichita students are prepared for success in college, career and life.
