Students from the FutureReady Center for Manufacturing were invited to tour the Cargill Innovation Center.

The Every Student Future Ready Strategic Plan will guide the Wichita Public Schools’ efforts over the next five years. The Strategic Plan has 3 Student Success Outcomes: Increase academic achievement and graduation rate, prepare students for life, college and career success, and create and enhance safety and belonging.

On Aug. 6 we welcomed all WPS employees to the Rally on the River at Riverfront Stadium to kick off the school year and launch our new strategic plan.

On December 11, 2023, the Board of Education finalized the updated 5-year Every Student Future Ready Strategic Plan, which will guide the work of WPS through 2029.

During the November 13, 2023 Board of Education meeting, members heard an update from Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld on the 2024-29 Strategic Plan development, which builds on the success of the 2018-23 strategic plan.

The Board of Education adopted new mission and shared beliefs statements during their August 28, 2023 meeting. These will drive development of the major goals for the 2024-29 strategic plan.
