Contract agreements reached with UTW and SEIU with BOE

Contract agreements reached with UTW and SEIU with BOE

Representatives from United Teachers of Wichita and Service Employees International Union (Local 513) for Classified and the Uniformed Security Officers and Security Dispatchers groups have reached contract agreements with the Wichita Board of Education for the 25-26 school year.

Highlights of the UTW contract include:

  • 3% salary schedule improvement;
  • Steps, tracks and longevity for years of experience, additional education and years of service for those who are eligible;
  • No change to the employee health program or premiums.

Additional highlights include:

  • Equivalent to a Level C supplemental for Interrelated Teachers at Continuum-Designated Schools; Mixed Abilities Teachers (including Pre-K Mixed Abilities Teachers); PBS Teachers; and Academic Life Skills Teachers.
  • Equivalent to a Level B supplemental for Speech Language Pathologists, Interrelated Teachers, Gifted Teachers, Hearing Impaired Teachers, Visually Impaired Teachers, and PreK Developmentally Delayed Teachers.
  • Attendance-based bonuses for certain bargaining unit members 

Highlights of the contract for SEIU Classified employees include:

  • 3% salary schedule improvement;
  • Steps, career ladder and longevity for years of experience and years of service for those who are eligible;
  • No change to the employee health program or premiums.

Highlights of the contract for SEIU Safety Services include:

  • 3% salary schedule improvement, and 1% catch-up
  • Steps, career ladder and longevity for those who are eligible;
  • No change to the employee health program or premiums.

The contracts will be ratified at the June 9 Board of Education meeting.
