PreK-12 Enrollment for WPS has increased

PreK-12 Enrollment for WPS has increased

Wichita Public Schools enrollment for the 24-25 school year is 46,556. Traditional PreK – 12 enrollment has increased for the first time in several years.

  • High school enrollment is at its highest point in over two decades.
  • Elementary enrollment has increased for the first time since COVID.
  • There is no indication that the state’s new open enrollment provision had an impact on enrollment.
  • WPS had a decline in overall enrollment due to declines in unique programs that serve special populations like adult virtual learners and a national diploma completion program that no longer serves Wichita.
