Strategic Plan interim goal update about postsecondary assets

Strategic Plan interim goal update about postsecondary assets

On May 5, 2025, the Wichita Board of Education heard an update about the postsecondary assets interim goals that support the Every Student Future Ready Strategic Plan.

Postsecondary assets are high school interim goals that support Student Success Outcome 2: Prepare students for life, college and career.

High School Interim Goal: The percentage of students earning five or more postsecondary assets, prior to graduation, will reach at least 10% by May 2025.

13.96% of the class of 2025 have five or more postsecondary assets.

Postsecondary assets are part of the high school graduation requirements for the class of 2028 and beyond. They support students in a seamless, successful transition to college or career.  The state requires two or more for graduation, and include ACT score of 21+, SAT score of 1200+, Eagle or Gold Scout, senior project, industry-recognized certification, youth apprenticeship, 9+ hours of college credit, two or more athletic activities, JROTC credit and more.
