Strategic Plan interim goal updates for elementary reading, middle school math and attendance
The Board of Education heard an update about some of the interim goals that support the Student Success Outcomes of the Every Student Future Ready Strategic Plan during the June 9, 2025 meeting.
Elementary reading and middle school math scores are interim goals that support Student Success Outcome 1: Increase academic achievement and graduation rate.
Elementary Interim Goal: Decrease the percentage of students below benchmark on 3rd grade aReading from 56.5% to 53% by May 2025.
Sixteen elementary schools met the year-end goal of <=53%.
Middle School Interim Goal: Decrease the percentage of students below benchmark on 8th grade aMath from 63% to 59.5% by May 2025.
Ten middle schools have made progress toward their year-end goal. Around 250 middle school students moved from non-proficient to proficient.
The BOE also heard an interim goal update on average daily attendance, which supports Students Success Outcome 3: Create and enhance safety and belonging.
Elementary Interim Goal: Increase average daily attendance from 91.5% to 93.8% by the end of May 2025.
In the 24-25 school year, 46 elementary schools raised their daily attendance rate to 92.2%.
Middle School Interim Goal: Increase average daily attendance from 89.5% to 93.2% by the end of May 2025.
In the 24-25 school year, twelve schools increased their daily attendance to 90.3%.
High School Interim Goal: Increase average daily attendance from 86.7% to 90.5% by end of May 2025.
In the 24-25 school year, six high schools raised their daily attendance to 87.9%.
