WPS Announces New Chief Operations Officer, Dr. Steve Noble

WPS Announces New Chief Operations Officer, Dr. Steve Noble

Wichita Public Schools is pleased to announce Dr. Steve Noble as the district’s new Chief Operations Officer. Dr. Noble will work with Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld to provide strategic leadership and executive oversight of district operations that support student success, including Facilities, Operations, Safety & Environmental Services and Information Services/Technology.

“With more than 46,500 students, WPS is the 10th largest “city” in Kansas – roughly the size of Salina,” said Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld. “We have heard community feedback that we need to be both efficient and student focused. I am excited for this opportunity to run our “city” better while allowing my attention to remain where it belongs – in our classrooms.”

Dr. Noble brings a blend of public education expertise and strategic business insight to the role, having previously served as superintendent in Seaman and Durham-Hillsboro-Lehigh school districts, assistant superintendent in Haven school district, and most recently Director of Business Development at Mammoth Sports Construction, LLC.

“Even while I stepped away from the day-to-day work in schools, I stayed close to the mission. That time gave me new perspective, and I'm grateful for the chance to bring those lessons - and my experience in district leadership - to Wichita Public Schools and the community it serves,” Dr. Noble said.
