Early Childhood
Starting at birth, WPS has services that support families so students are ready for kindergarten and beyond. Explore our award-winning Parents as Teachers program, Screen for Success, and Pre-Kindergarten.
Parents as Teachers
The program is designed to give children the best possible start in life, and to support parents in their role as children’s first and most important teachers. PAT is based on two simple truths: babies are born learners, and parents play a critical role from the beginning in determining what their children will become.
Screen for Success
In partnership with Rainbows United and Connecting Place, WPS offers free hearing, vision, speech/language and behavior screenings for children from birth to age 5.
Pre-Kindergarten
Early childhood learning is important to academic success for the rest of a child's life! Pre-kindergarten provides students with a rich curriculum and an innovative, engaging environment where purposeful play leads to learning in reading, writing, math, music, arts and more.
