All About Us
Val Jackson Elementary opened in the fall of 2004. We have approximately 420 students in pre-k through fifth grade. In addition to our general education classrooms for kindergarten through fifth grade, we have 2 pre-K classrooms, 2 mixed abilities classrooms, and 2 academic life skills classrooms. Our students have the opportunity to participate in specials on a daily basis. These include PE, music, art, libary and technology. Jackson has an active Parents as Teachers program with playgroups meeting every Wednesday.
We strive to build a sense of community at Jackson, helping each of our students feel welcome and safe. Throughout the year we have several events to help build community, including boogie on the blacktop, pastries with parents, grandparents breakfast and carnival. While at this time we are unable to have these events due to the restrictions placed on the school due to COVID-19, we look forward to bringing these events back as soon as possible.
